John Newell
John F. Newell has been practicing law for thirty years, with eight of those years as in-house counsel for Burlington Northern Railroad (now BNSF). Since leaving BNSF John has continued representing that railroad, and other transportation companies, in a variety of litigation. John practices primarily in the areas of railroad defense including FELA claims, crossing litigation, employment discrimination and premises liability.
As a litigator, John has had extensive experience in the mediation process, and he is a certified mediator through his enrollment in the DePaul University Center for Dispute Resolution. He is a charter member of the Chicago chapter of the Association of Attorney Mediators.
