In Memoriam - John Phillip Burke

John P. Burke, 56, long-time Winnetka resident (originally from the Beverly area) passed away on February 8, 2010 after a valiant battle with cancer. John was the loving husband of Maryann (nee Groble) and devoted father of Elizabeth and Katherine; the cherished son of Phillip and Jean (nee Witry) Burke; beloved brother of Thomas (Karen), Robert (Susan), and Joseph (Mary Carol); fond uncle of 18 nieces and nephews; wonderful brother-in-law to 12 and dear friend to too many to count. John was a highly skilled attorney of over 30 years experience, and most recently a partner at the law firm of Daley Mohan Groble, P.C.; previously he worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. for 16 years, in private practice and as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the County of Cook. John was a die-hard Illini fan, lifelong White Sox supporter, a crafty tennis player, and a persistent fisherman.
